LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY (March 25, 1967, actual date) On this day in sports history, March 25, 1967, at the 29th NCAA Men's Basketball Championship: UCLA beats Dayton, 79-64; Bruins center Lew Alcindor (later named Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) was named the tournament Most Outstanding Player. He is the only player to have received the award three time (1967, 1968, 1969).
