OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA (June 6, 2026) Texas delivered another title-clinching performance, beating Texas Tech 4-1 in the Women’s College World Series finale to sweep the championship series and secure its second consecutive softball national title. The Longhorns broke the game open late, turning a tight contest into a comfortable finish with timely offense and strong pitching at Devon Park.

Texas Tech opened the scoring, but the Longhorns answered with a key rally that shifted momentum in the fifth inning. Texas then added insurance in the seventh, including a home run from Kayden Henry, to pull away and close out the Red Raiders. Teagan Kavan’s relief work helped lock down the final innings, and she was named Most Outstanding Player for the series.

The win capped a dominant postseason for Texas, which finished the finals with another victory over its in-state rival and continued its rise as the sport’s top program. The back-to-back national championships also marked a milestone for the Longhorns under head coach Mike White.

Texas showed the balance of a championship team: timely hitting, steady pitching, and poise under pressure. Even after Texas Tech grabbed an early lead, the Longhorns stayed patient, waited for their chances, and delivered when it mattered most.

With the final out, Texas completed a memorable sweep and added another trophy to its growing legacy.
