HOUSTON, TEXAS (June  14, 2026) The third day of action at the 2026 FIFA World Cup delivered four exciting matches on Saturday, June 13, as teams battled for valuable points in the group stage. Fans witnessed two draws, a hard-fought victory for Scotland, and a strong opening win by Australia.

The day began in Group B, where Qatar and Switzerland played to a 1-1 draw. Switzerland controlled possession for much of the match and generated several scoring opportunities, but Qatar's defense held firm. Both teams found the net in the second half, earning a point apiece. Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel made several key saves to keep his team in the match, while Qatar's attack showed flashes of creativity in transition.

The second match featured two of the tournament's most dangerous teams as Brazil and Morocco battled to a 1-1 draw in Group C. Brazil dominated possession and created more chances, but Morocco once again proved difficult to break down. Brazil opened the scoring through its star-studded attack before Morocco answered with an equalizer that silenced the Brazilian supporters. Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was outstanding, making multiple saves to preserve the result. The draw leaves both teams in a strong position heading into their second group match.

Later in the evening, Scotland earned a crucial 1-0 victory over Haiti. The Scots controlled much of the play and were rewarded with the match's only goal in the second half. Midfielder Scott McTominay played a major role in Scotland's success, helping win possession in midfield and creating several attacking opportunities. Haiti defended well throughout the contest but struggled to generate consistent scoring chances. The victory gives Scotland three important points and keeps them near the top of Group C.

The final match of the day saw Australia defeat Turkey 2-0 in Group D. Australia struck early and never looked back, using an organized defense and quick counterattacks to secure the win. The Socceroos finished with two goals from a balanced attack and received a strong performance from goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, who recorded a clean sheet. Turkey pushed forward late in the match but could not find a breakthrough.
