Scott Named to GCAA Coaches Congress

HOUSTON, TEXAS (November 11, 2008) Rice University golf coach Drew Scott has been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America’s Coaches Congress and will represent Conference USA on the committee.

Created by the GCAA in 2007, the Coaches Congress’ purpose has been to serve as a liaison between coaches represented and the GCAA’s National Advisory Board. The Congress membership assists the GCAA national office in surveying members of their respective conference regarding matters deemed of national importance as well as keeping represented coaches informed.

Coaches Congress members also serve as ambassadors of the Golf Coaches Association of America, recruiting coaches to join the association.

Scott is also in his second year as a voting member of the GolfWorld/GCAA Coaches Poll. Last year he served as the South Central Region committee chairman. The committee is responsible for nominations and voting for All-Region and All-America players and coaches.
