HOUSTON, TEXAS (July 8, 2025) The Houston Dash had a big night at Shell Energy Stadium, beating Rayadas de Monterrey 4-0 in an international friendly on Tuesday evening. Four different Dash players scored in the shutout win.

Delanie Sheehan got things started in the 24th minute with a goal off a pass from Sarah Puntigam. Sheehan made space and sent the ball into the back post to put Houston up 1-0.

Defender Avery Patterson made it 2-0 early in the second half, finishing off a low cross from Yazmeen Ryan with a strong left-footed shot. Patterson recently scored her first goal for the U.S. Women’s National Team and continued her great form for the Dash.

In the 73rd minute, Maggie Graham added a third goal, scoring off a rebound after a save by Monterrey’s goalkeeper. The final goal came in the 87th minute from Kiki Van Zanten, who finished a pass from Patterson.

Goalkeepers Jane Campbell and Abby Smith each played a half to help secure the shutout. Defender Allysha Chapman, midfielder Rebeca, and defender Zoe Matthews all made their 2025 season debuts.

The Dash controlled the game with strong chances from Sheehan, Messiah Bright, Ryan Gareis, and Ryan. Monterrey’s best chance was called offside in the second half.

Houston returns to league play on August 2 against Bay FC and will host the North Carolina Courage on August 8.
