The game kicked off with the skills of Bonke Maring and Marcus Greene ,who led the charge for HCU, scoring 11 consecutive points, including three from long range.

HCU launched a final push in the closing minutes, with Jay Alvarez making crucial plays and Pierce Bazil sinking two free throws to cut the deficit. However, UTSA held on, securing the 89-87 victory.
