SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (July 26, 2008) Thousands of athletes are expected to compete in 18 events as part of the 2008 Tesoro TAAF Games of Texas. This is the largest multi-sport event in the state. The Games of Texas are patterned after the Olympic Games and are hosted by the San Antonio Sports Foundation and San Antonio Parks and Recreation. Track & field (3,500), swimming (2000) and boxing (300) will host the largest number of athletes to ever compete in their sports in the Games of Texas.The 2008 Tesoro TAAF Games of Texas continue Saturday with 18 events, including boxing, track and field, swimming, baseball, and softball.
