Rice's Schamun Ranked 17th in the Nation

HOUSTON, TEXAS (September 13, 2008) Rice Owls volleyball setter Meredith Schamun (Murrieta, Calif./Vista Murrieta HS) currently ranks 17th in the nation in assists per set. The sophomore is averaging a league-leading 11.13 assists per set. Schamun has 267 assists in 24 sets.

The Owls (5-2) as a team rank 22nd in the country in kills per set at 14.13 (339 kills in 24 sets). Rice also ranks fourth in the nation in digs per at 18.04 (433 digs in 24 sets.)

The Owls will next be in action on Sept. 19 vs. Hofstra at the BGSU Best Western Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio.
