PRAIRIE VIEW, TEXAS (June 3, 2010) Prairie View A&M University head women’s soccer coach Abe Garcia announced today the addition of seven student-athletes to play soccer for the Lady Panthers next season.
Last season, Prairie View made history and advanced to the finals of the SWAC Soccer Tournament for the first time ever before falling short in the finale. With the loss of several key players from last season’s squad, Garcia feels his new group should contribute immediately as they prepare for 2010.
“I feel this class will add much-needed depth to the team as we lacked it at times last season,” said Garcia. “I foresee competition within the team elevating which will make us stronger. Two of the players I recruited bring collegiate experience with them and I hope they’re able to adapt to our system of play right away. (Assistant) Coach (Nick) Morrison and I are very excited to get on the field and begin working with all the girls and pick up where we left off.”
