Houston Dash select six players in 2019 NWSL Draft

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (January 10, 2019) The 
Houston Dash have selected six players in 2019 NWSL College Draft. Four players were selected in the second round, with the remaining two taken in the third round.

In the second round, the Dash selected defender Ally Prisock (University of South California), forward CeCe Kizer (University of Mississippi), midfielder Betsy Brandon (University of Virginia) and forward Kayla McCoy (Duke University). Their third round choices were  defender Jazmin Jackmon (University of Oregon) and midfielder Grace Cutler (University of West Virginia).

Houston Dash head coach James Clarkson was quoted, in a press release from the Houston Dash

“We’re really pleased with the day. I think we’ve come out better than I anticipated. We put a lot of work into it. We came up with a real comprehensive list of targets that we wanted, we identified areas in the roster that we thought needed real help, and I think after today we’ve managed to potentially fill some of those spots and raise the level of our overall roster."

Houston will kick off the 2019 NWSL season on the weekend of April 13/14.
