MORGANTOWN, WEST VIRGINIA (June 17, 2023) Bob Huggins, the head basketball coach for West Virginia, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). The university punished him for three games for using an anti-gay slur during a radio appearance, and he was then arrested on Friday night in Pittsburgh.
An SUV with a shredded tire was impeding traffic, according to a police report. Huggins was accused of driving while intoxicated. At a later time, he will have a preliminary hearing. Huggins has been arrested once before.
The other incident took place in 2004 while he was coaching at Cincinnati. The event is known to the West Virginia sports department, which says it will take appropriate measures after conducting a review.
