WASHINGTON, DC (January 4, 2008) Former Houston Astros pitchers Andy Pettitte and Roger Clemens were asked Friday to appear and testify before the House Oversight Committee concerning doping in Major League Baseball.
In addition, Brian McNamee, who was their former trainer, and former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski were asked to take part.
Radomski's allegations were the basis of former Senate majority leader George Mitchell's report on doping in baseball.
Clemens and Pettitte are to appear on January 16. The day before, the committee is to slated to hear testimony from baseball commissioner Bud Selig, union leader Donald Fehr and Mitchell.
