HBU downs Lamar in OT in first conference game of season

HOUSTON, TEXAS (January 2, 2019) The HBU Huskies jumped out to a 38-31 lead at halftime and when on to down the Lamar Cardinals by the score of 88-82 in overtime in the first conference game for both teams. Starting guard Ian Dubose tallied 11 of HBU's first half points, in route to a career high 33 points, along with 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.

Three other Huskies tallied double figures;  Philip McKenzie (12 pts, 6 reb), Oliver Lynch-Daniels (11 pts, 5 reb), and Edward Hartd (10 pts, 3 reb). HBU shot 46.9% from the field along with 68.8% from the free-throw line. Josh Nzeakor scored 24 points for the Cardinals with Nick Garth adding 14. 

Next up for the Huskies is three game on the road. They start on Saturday, January 5 against New Orleans. They follow that up with a January 12 meeting against Nicholls and a January 16 match up with Abilene Christian. They return to the confines of Sharp Gymnasium on Saturday, January 19 where they will face Sam Houston.
