FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, PASADENA MEMORIAL SWIMMERS ARE IN THE REGION FINALS

PEARLAND, TEXAS (February 1, 2019) The Pasadena Memorial High School Swimming and  Diving Team have qualified, as a result of the preliminary performances on Friday, and advanced to the UIL Region 6-6A Finals on Saturday, February 2. The finals will be held at Pearland Natatorium, in Pearland, Texas, and will begin at 10:15 a.m. CST.

The squad of Melanie Jimenez, Kimberly Dutton, Rachel Del Angel, Abigail Lezcano, and Daniela Fraga (alternate) combined to advance to finals in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Del Angel also qualified for finals in the 50-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

Dutton and Fraga advanced to the semi-finals in 1-meter diving, which was contested on Thursday.

The top two finishers in the finals advance to the UIL State Championships in two weeks in Austin.
