TCU downs Houston 10-6 at Minute Maid Park

HOUSTON, TEXAS (March 1, 2019) Houston erupted for five runs late in the game, but is was not enough to overcome the TCU's early lead, as the Horned Frogs down the Cougars 10-6 in the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park.

The Horned Frogs tallied three runs in the first, fourth, and seventh innings and added a single run in the eighth. Catcher Alex Isola was 3-for-4 with three runs, and three RBI. First baseman Jake Guenther was 2-for-4, along with scoring two runs and one RBI.

For the Cougars, third baseman Jared Triolo was 2-for-5 with one run and two RBI. Starting pitcher Tyler Bielamowich; seeing 3.1 innings, receiving the loss, while Nick Lodolo went seven innings, giving up two hits and one run. 

TCU will next face Texas A&M on Saturday with a 7 p.m. CST first pitch. Houston will take on Texas State in the first game on Saturday with an 11 a.m. start.
