HOUSTON, TEXAS (March 15, 2020) The Houston Cougars baseball team has been informed by campus administration they are to self-quarantine as a result of one of their staff members developing symptoms of the COVID-19 (coronavirus). The team just returned from a trip to Las Vegas, where they were playing a two-game series against UNLV. The Cougars downed the Rebels 3-1 prior to the remainder of their season being cancelled.

The individual, whose identity was not released, is currently being tested for COVID-19 and the pre-cautionary self-quarantine will last while UH awaits test results, which could take from 48-72 hours

Any related, potential exposure is thought to be limited to the UH baseball team and support staff, as the University was on Spring Break when the team returned. At this time, no other baseball student-athletes, coaches or staff appear to have developed symptoms.
